Сокотриски јазик

Сокотрискиот (арапски: اللغة السقطرية) е семитски јазик, дел од групата на јужноарапски јазици. Јазикот е мајчин јазик на Сокотријците кои живеав на островот Сокотра и ближните остров Адб ал Кури и Самхах во Јемен. Јазкикот е еден од шестте јужноарапски јазици, сите се зборуваат во Јемен или Оман и скоро сите се со мал број на говорници.

Класификација уреди

Јазикот е дел од мала подгрупа на јужноарапски јазици, дел од групата на семитски јазици од афроазиското јазично семејство.[1]

Статус уреди

Како и со останатите јужноарапски јазици, така и сокотрискиот нема долга пишана историја. Јазикот најчесто се користел за секојдневна комуникација и има богата усна традиција. Според традицијата, се верува дека јазикот потекнува од Шеба и се зборувал кога постоел стариот јужноарапски јазик, иако овој јазик и останатите јужноарапски јазици не се директни потомци од древниот јужноарапски, туку од сестрински јазик на овој стар јазик.

Јазикот денес е под огромно влијание од арапскиот јазик, кој е службен јазик во Јемен. Голем број Арапи од Јемен се преселиле на Сокотра и со тоа јазикот станал официјален и доминантен и на Сокотра. Во образованието денес се користи арапски, наместо сокотриски. Арапскиот има предност во образованието и пазарот на трудот. Арапскиот секако служи како лингва франка во регионот. Конзервативните Арапи сметаат дека сокотрискиот е само дијалект на арапскиот, а владата не се гружи за јазикот.[2]

Така, денес се смета дека јазикот е под опасност од исчезнување.

Население уреди

Вкупниот број на сокотриски говорници, според пописот од 1990 година во Јемен е 57.000, а вкупниот број во сите држави е 71,400[1]

Писмо уреди

Систем за пишување на јазикот бил развиен во 2014 година од страна на рускиот тим предводен од Виталиј Наумкин. Писмото се заснова на арапското писмо.[3]
