Долина на кралевите

Долина на кралевите (арапски: وادي الملوك Wadi Biban el-Muluk; „Капија на кралот“)[1]долина во Египет каде во период од речиси 500 години (од XVI век п.н.е. до XI век п.н.е. се закопувани кралевите и други благородници на Стар Египет (од Осумнаесетта до Дваесетта династија).[2][3] Долината се наоѓа на западниот брег на Нил, наспроти Теба (денешен Луксор).[4]

Со последните откриени гробови од 2005 и 2008 година,[5] долината има 62 гроба и комори.[6] Кралските гробови се украсени со сцени од египетската митологија. Сите гробови се најверојатно отворени и покрадени во минатото, но сè уште ја прикажуваат сликата на моќта и богатството на владетелите од тоа време.

Долината на кралевите е во центарот на интерес на бројни археолози и египтолози уште од крајот на 18 век, а гробовите и погребните обичаи од тоа време сè уште се интересни за истражување. Долината е посебно популарна поради откритието на гробот „KV62“ на Тутанкамон (заедно со приказните за „проклетството на фараоните“[7]).
