Ребека Вудгејт

Ребека Вудгејт е професорка на Универзитетот во Вашингтон, позната по нејзината работа на истражување на океанската циркулација во поларните региони.

Образование и кариера

Вудгејт дипломирала на Универзитетот во Кембриџ 1990 година и докторирала на Универзитетот во Оксфорд 1994 година. По нејзиниот докторат, таа била постдокторски истражувач во Институтот за поларни и морски истражувања Алфред Вегенер. Во 1999 година, се преселила на Универзитетот во Вашингтон и, од 2022 година, работи како професорка на Универзитетот во Вашингтон.

Истражување

Раното истражување на Вудгејт се фокусирало на асимилација на податоци во модели[1] и струи во близина на Гренланд.[2] Таа ги испитувала физичките својства на водните маси во Арктичкиот океан и движењето на водните маси во регионот.[3][4] Нејзиното истражување, исто така, се фокусирало на протокот на слатката вода низ Беринговиот Проток[5] и промените во водата што течела низ Беринговиот Проток со текот на времето.[6][7] Истражувањето на Вудгејт исто така информирало и за разбирањето на улогата на слатката вода на Арктикот,[8][9] и интеракциите помеѓу Арктичкиот Океан и морскиот мраз во регионот.[10][11] Нејзиното истражување користи прицврстени инструменти за да ги набљудува условите во Арктичкиот океан.[12][13]
