Бербери

Берберите се староседелски народ во Северна Африка, западно од реката Нил. Нивната територија на живеење е од Атлантскиот Океан на запад па до оазата Сива во Египет на исток, Средоземно Море на север и реката Нигер на југ. Историски, тие зборувале берберски јазици, кои сочинуваат афрo-азиска група на јазици. Денес, голем дел од населението зборува арапски јазик, но и француски. Голем број од Берберите живеат во Алжир и Мароко. Најголемиот број на Бербери се наоѓа во Мароко каде се 85% од населението се Бербери. Самите Бербери се нарекуваат Имазиген, што во слободен превод значи „слободни луѓе“.
